Anne VanderWal

Anne VanderWal has been a member of the leadership team at Alumni Forum Services for the past five years, serving as Director of Operations. In this role, she focuses on engaging forum members, supporting them throughout their forum journey, and helping to cultivate a strong, ever-growing peer community. She is passionate about creating meaningful experiences that connect people, foster community, and deliver lasting value, and she is committed to driving organizational growth through efficient, scalable systems.
With more than 20 years of experience in the events industry, Anne brings a deep understanding of event strategy, production, and client engagement, along with a proven track record of operational leadership. She has overseen events across the globe as well as in virtual environments, consistently delivering high-quality, impactful experiences. Known for her ability to thrive in fast-paced settings, she excels at turning vision into execution.
After graduating from the University of Michigan, Anne moved to New York City, where she lived and worked for 15 years. During that time, she held leadership roles in events at prominent cultural institutions, including the American Museum of Natural History and The New York Historical, as well as with the New York Yankees. She went on to found her own company, Events That Matter, partnering with a diverse portfolio of clients and deepening her expertise in event planning, production, and consulting.
